The Division: 10 Ways You’re Playing It Wrong
10. You're Wasting Your Time Buying New Gear
It seems like gear vendors are pretty much everywhere in The Division. From the Base of Operations, through the various safe houses, and into every Dark Zone checkpoint, you can't go anywhere in the game without someone trying to peddle their wares at you.
With the aggressive approach that the vendors take it's easy to fall into the trap of picking from their regularly updated stocks. You'll want to stop that quickly, however, as you're more than likely wasting credits by picking up gear and weapons that are inferior to others available nearby.
The best way of making sure your agent is decked out in the best gear at any time is through the crafting table. Since blueprints are readily available by completing even the smallest of activities, you'll find you're always carrying a good stock of potential designs.
And while this may be a devastated picture of New York, materials are far from scarce. Weapon parts and tools can be found all over the city with ease . If you're willing to spend just a few extra minutes finding the blueprints and the necessary parts, then the best weapons are always available at the crafting station, not with the vendors.
