The Elder Scrolls 6: 9 Fan Theories That Must Come True

5. Bring Back Skills And Stats

Of all the ways that Bethesda's games have moved away from their RPG roots, toning down the importance of skills and stats is by far the most obvious one. Though levelling up and picking abilities is still present in their franchises, in The Elder Scrolls series especially, the studio have moved away from a regular stat-based skill system, instead tying these upgrades passively to a player's actions.

While the balance between hardcore stat management and a streamlined system was executed pretty well in Skyrim though, Bethesda have cut back even more with every subsequent game - a problem which they're apparently going to remedy with Fallout 76.

Consequently, if they're already starting to look at how skills and stats are handled in their games and return to an older style of approach, then it's speculated that TES VI will once again boast a robust skill tree and stats for players to get the full RPG experience.
