The Game Awards 2018: 9 Rumours & Leaks That Must Happen

4. Xbox Game Pass Gets More AAA Titles

Death Stranding
Microsoft

While Xbox hasn't had an exceptional array of recent exclusives, Xbox Game Pass has proven to be a successful adoption of a Netflix-like subscription service for games. Consistent support and continuous quality additions have allowed GP to thrive and make the system quite appealing, even without an excess of exclusives.

Since the service has thrived due to its 100+ game library that's comprised of both indie and mainstream titles, it's unlikely that Microsoft will elect to remain passive when it comes to providing AAA titles to subscribers. Even though the recent X018 Fan Fest unveiled over 16 new titles coming in December, they were largely indies.

On as large a stage as TGA, you can expect that Xbox will look to flex their service's success and then strengthen its appeal with even more big-name blockbusters.

Even if it's something from several years ago, additions like Wolfenstein: The New Order and Fallout 4 greatly legitimized the service and ensured that it was far more than just an indie/last-gen pusher that costs $10 a month. Like the Hellblade announcement at X018, expect some big titles to be available for download to start off the New Year.
