6. Ellie Is Captured By The Seraphites

Ever since that second trailer dropped showing a new band of villains that didn't look like anything from the first games, fans have been wondering just who the hell they are. These 'Seraphites' have a clear penchant for ritualistic murder and violence, and will be the kind of terrifying, powerful force to push Ellie into a murderous rampage.

There's still not much known about the Seraphites, other than that they're a big, dangerous cult that've taken something special from our hero. The official description suggests they're going to be more than clear-cut monsters though, explaining that the story "will challenge your notions of right versus wrong, good versus evil, and hero versus villain."

Their motivations aren't clear, but they're obviously brutal, highlighted by the fact that one member is torturing a naked dude tied to a chair in the trailer. Now we know they're the catalyst for Ellie's actions after she's captured by them as well, though Joel's relationship with them is still a mystery.
