The Order: 1886 - 15 Easter Eggs, References & In Jokes You Must See

6. The Real History Of The Order's Members

There's a quote at the opening of the game taken directly from Le Morte d'Arthur - the definitive Arthurian text, which was written by Thomas Malory in the 1400s. He is of course an ancestor of Sebastian Malory, one of the game's Order and the second knight to bear the name of Sir Percival. He's not the only Order member with a real history. Marquis de Lafayette - known simply as Lafayette commonly in the US - was a real figure from the Revolutionary period. He was a close friend of George Washington, Alexander Hamilton, and Thomas Jefferson and fought for the United States in the American Revolutionary War. He was also a key figure in the French Revolution of 1789 and the July Revolution of 1830, and clearly some sort of time traveller, given that he's still young in The Order 1886.
