The Outer Worlds: 10 Tips & Tricks The Game Doesn't Tell You

1. Keep An Eye On Companion Upgrades

Although this may seem like a no-brainer, upgrading your companions is something that’s incredibly easy to forget.

It’s not just you that will be levelling up throughout your adventures. Depending on how much you use them, companions will also be earning skill points, although their skill trees are much smaller.

The Outer Worlds makes a habit of reminding you if you have unspent skill points, but only for yourself, so make sure to check their section of the inventory every once in a while.

This also applies to their armour and weapons. Don’t be so focused on improving your own armory that you forget that Parvati is still running around with the starting pistol. Equip them with strong items as soon as you’re able to.

Companion abilities aren’t so obviously explained either, so make sure to test them all out to see which ones work best with one another.
