Besides being a clear upgrade to V.A.T.S, Tactical Time Dilation makes The Outer World’s combat system.

Due to your time frozen on The Hope, you’ve now got the ability to slow down time during combat. Not only does this make placing shots a lot easier, but it also means that you can cause specific targeted damage to enemies.

When using TTD, aiming at specific body-parts will cause status effects, such as temporarily blinding enemies or causing them to be knocked down.

During the more combat-heavy sections of the game, targeted damage becomes essential. Those extra few seconds you get after blinding the enemy can be the difference between life and death.

Tactical Time Dilation drains faster depending on if you’re moving, but if you feel like using it whilst jumping through the air then that’s also a valid option.

You won’t be beating Supernova without learning everything about Tactical Time Dilation.
