The Outer Worlds: 10 Tips & Tricks The Game Doesn't Tell You
7. Workbenches Are Invaluable
The Outer Worlds thankfully makes repairing items and armour a very rare occurrence, but that doesn’t negate how important the workbench will become.
Thankfully none of your items are made out of glass and need repairing every five minutes, but the option is always there if you find a favourite and want to stick to it.
Workbenches are most important for modifying and tinkering. Modifying allows you to add weapon modifications to your selected weapons and armour, and there are plenty to choose from. Some of them allow you to carry more weight, whilst others change the elemental type of a weapon completely.
Tinkering is much more simple and allows you to use your bits to upgrade the damage of your weapons or protection of your armour. Tinkered items can’t be five levels greater than your own however, so make sure to level yourself up alongside your items.
There’s a reason the game gives you XP for finding workbenches- they’re important!
