Sometimes you’ll find yourself in a situation where you need a few quick stat boosts in order to get by. There’s a few ways to go about that.

The first and perhaps least obvious of all of these is your companions. Unless you’ve specifically chosen a perk that gives you better stats on your own, having your companions will always give you a boost.

Armour changing can also give you different stat boosts, aside from just protecting you. Each piece of armour also has a skill bonus, which can range from percentage increases to additional skill points. You never know when changing outfits might help you.

Finally, there are some consumables that will also impact your stats, although not always for the better. Most food and drink items tend to affect your health regeneration, but Rizzo’s Spectrum Vodka can actually give you +1 to your personality attributes.

Don’t go thinking you need to level up to win that conversation. There’s always another way.
