The Witcher Movie: 10 Actors Who Could Play Geralt Of Rivia

7. Anson Mount

The problem with some of the entries on this list is that they're such familiar faces, with many of them having already played roles in movies involving swords and long hair and medieval things. Over-familiarity with the actor can be a dangerous thing, and perhaps a Witcher movie would be a good chance to hand the reins to someone well-established, but not quite as universally recognisable. Enter Anson Mount, the man behind Hell on Wheels leading character and certifiable badass, Cullen Bohannon. Anyone who's watched the series may have trouble dissociating Mount from his thick old-western accent, but in the series he exhibits the loneliness, ruggedness and moral ambivalence that would be required of Geralt.
Mount exudes everything you want from an anti-hero, bringing a gravitas to his performance that, even though you may know he's not strictly a 'goodie', you root for him anyway because he is, for want of a better word, just so damn cool.
