The Witcher TV Show: 5 Games Netflix Should Adapt Next

2. Sleeping Dogs

The Witcher Bioshock
Square Enix

Top Casting Pick: Daniel Dae Kim as Wei Shen

Less popular and critically acclaimed than other games on this list, but the story of a Chinese cop going under cover in the Triads would provide seasons of tense TV. It’s a shame Square Enix’s open world gameplay didn’t live up to competitors like GTA or Assassin’s Creed to compete for the sandbox crown, because the story was tightly paced and action packed.

With Wei balancing between his cop’s sense of justice and his need to prove loyalty to the Triad, his journey takes him down dark paths. The overarching plot of an undercover cop is nothing we haven’t seen before, but there’s some twists in there to rival Breaking Bad.

Emma Stone, Lucy Lui and Tom Wilkinson we’re part of the game’s original cast, so there’s clear substance to the story.

There was even talk of a movie in the works, with Donnie Yen being cast as Shen. However, we’ve heard precious little since. With Dae Kim showing his range in Lost and cop/criminal cred from Hawaii 5-0 and Saint’s Row, he gets our nod for the lead.

We just hope if it does get made, they cut the karaoke scenes. Yikes...
