Valkyrie Profile's default ending (aka Ending B) is one hell of an anti-climax, amounting to a minute-long dialogue crawl where you're congratulated for defeating the evil, and that's it.

And so, players were certainly incentivised to seek out the better Ending A, even if it's unlocked through so many random acts it's definitely impossible for anyone to do it sans-guide.

The primary objectives include: lowering Valkyrie's seal value to 37 or lower by the time you reach Chapter 7, completing the Tower of Lezard Valeth by Chapter 4, recruiting Lucian and Mystina in Chapter 5, and sending Lucian to Valhalla in Chapter 5 or 6.

Because the game never explicitly explains which actions raise or lower the seal value, you need to use a guide to get it right without losing your mind, especially as there's the potential to miss requirements which will lock you out of Ending A for the rest of your playthrough.

Considering how much better Ending A is than the default one, though, it almost feels like the developers cooked up this migraine-inducing list of hoops to jump through just to sell a bunch of guides. Almost.
