7. The Usual Villains
Going off the gameplay footage, it seems the villains will be similar to previous games, although there may be a twist in the tale. Naughty Dog has also revealed that the voice heard during the map trailer will be a character in the game. Some fan theories are suggesting this particular bad guy will be on a quest for revenge, although quite why is as yet unknown. There may be a connection to Henry Every, which is a point to be found later in this article. Most likely, the villain will be a former enemy of Drakes, or even his brother, that is looking for revenge. Given that we know very little about his brother, theres every chance he has a number of enemies seeking revenge. Perhaps Nathans brother has gotten involved with the wrong people and needs his brothers help to get him out of trouble? The recent 15 minute game play footage also showed Drake doing his usual thing, killing groups of bad guys in his customary and exuberant manner. The villains the footage showed seemed to be the common generic goon type, armed to the teeth with a whole manner of weapons at their disposal. So, nothing different from what has already featured in the series. The enemies are usually led by some sort of group or leader though, so whom that will be is yet to be known. Theories suggest it will be some sort of old, rich family that will be seeking to claim the gold that their ancestors had previously laid claim to. Such a theory would certainly fit into the story of Olivier Levasseur, whom this article will cover later on.
