Uncharted 4: 10 Awesome Fan Theories You Need To Know
6. Africa Seems To Be The Setting
The first teaser trailer for the fourth instalment revealed that the game would be set somewhere around Africa. In that trailer, the camera pans over an old map of the south-eastern tip of Africa, most notably the Cape of Good Hope. It then moves up the eastern coast of the continent before landing in Madagascar, marking one spot with the famous pirate's X. That spot is the Island of Sainte Marie; somewhere that has been the haunt of pirates for quite some time and is likely to feature heavily in the fourth game as far as fans are concerned. This particular island is said to have played host to a wide array of famous pirates such was William Kidd, Avery John and Henry Every, who is someone who features in the next point on this list. The island was also the reported location of a pirate republic, which housed over a 1,000 pirates. That republic was Libertaria, whose motto For God and Liberty, just so happens to appear in the trailer alongside the famous pirate logo of a skull and crossbones.
