Ups & Downs From Star Trek: Voyager - Across The Unknown

5. Down: Nobody is Safe

Expecting to play the story of the show from start to end? Think again because everything can change in an instant.

This is actually an Up and a Down in one because while it does offer massive variety in the storytelling, it can be disappointing to lose one or more of your core characters along the way.

For instance, while The Phage isn't a full level of the game, players will find themselves placed in a situation facing the Vidiians, and in choosing an away team to recover resources, may well find that Tom Paris has his lungs removed rather than Neelix. But never fear, you can still track down those organ-stealers and save him!

Or not. Frustrating as it might be, each event in the game has repercussions, and Ensign Bob might be your new hotshot at the helm before you can say Prime Factors

As players search each passing sector and system, it is possible to pick up some hitchhikers along the way to bolster your team, but they will need somewhere to sleep, so make sure there are enough quarters available. But just as with the main cast, there is the chance that your lower deckers might end up deceased through command decisions, so choose the path to home carefully.

A Star Trek fan from birth, I love to dive into every aspect of the franchise in front and behind the screen. There's something here that's kept me interested for the best part of four decades! Now I'm getting back into writing and using Star Trek as my first line of literary attack. If I'm not here on WhatCulture then you're more than welcome to come and take a look at my blog, Some Kind of Star Trek at http://SKoST.co.uk or maybe follow me on Twitter as @TheWarpCore. Sometimes I force myself not to talk about Star Trek.
