Warhammer 9th Edition: Everything You Need To Know

5. Blast Weapons - Sorry Hordes

There is a new type of weapon in town and it looks like it is a bad time to be a horde.

Blast weapons have been designed to get rid of those frustrating situations where you throw a grenade into a horde of 20 Ork boys and only one hit happens. It felt so ridiculous that a fragmentation grenade would only hit one… mushroom?

They have considered this and a mass of the weaponry that used a D3 or D6 profile of hits has become Blast. This does not include flamers.

The conditions of this are:

Minimum 3 attacks against a unit of 6 or more. Maximum hits against units over 11.

Understandably this buff to the weaponry has come with an increased point cost to models effected by this ability. It remains to be seen whether it is worth the points increase or not. Unfortunately for Blast weapons they cannot be shot in combat, so you can still shut down these devastating weapons quite easily.
