Super Mario Galaxy 2
The Game: Super Mario 64 was fantastic. Super Mario Galaxy was arguably better, and this game, Super Mario Galaxy 2 was definitely better then both! In this game they were able to take everything theyd learned from the previous three 3D Mario platformers and create a game that is near perfection. If the 3D Mario game they release on Wii U is even half the game this is (and to be honest Nintendo have never dropped quality more than the tiniest bit with the Mario games) then we are certain to be in for a super special delight when Super Mario U-niverse hits the stores (hopefully) later this year. Mario Sunshine had given us Yoshi, but it wasnt done in the best way. Mario Galaxy got it right which was great after his absence from the first Super Mario Galaxy. The needless issue of navigating the dull hub world found in the first Galaxy was removed in favour of a retro style map selection screen. Its funny how things go in cycles and its probable that in a few years time the hub world will seem really fresh again. But for now, a big kudos has to be given to Nintendo for recognising that as interesting as the hub world idea was it only served to delay the gamer from playing the main part of the games.
What It Says About You: You tell everyone that your favourite Mario game is Super Mario 64 because you feel you should, but this tears you up inside because you know this game tops it for you. You have that gut instinct that within time this is going to be the game that gets re-released and updated more than the other 3D Mario games because this is when they hit perfection.
Sound bite: Damn those green stars!!!
