WWE 2K15: 10 Awesome Features We Expect To See

3. Realistic Crowds

Yuke's have made a good effort in recent years to make their crowds sound a lot more realistic, and fair play to them: the overall atmosphere is a lot closer to an actual WWE event, though they still have plenty of work to do. One of the major problems is how the crowds appear randomly programmed to say certain phrases that have no context for the match you're playing, and I've even had crowds cheer for a wrestler who wasn't in the match (though I suppose if you saw last month's Royal Rumble, that's actually pretty realistic). More annoying than the sound of the crowd to me is how poorly-rendered they continue to be. Sure, we no longer have to put up with cardboard cutouts, but the variation of the crowd is laughable: you'll get the same dude wearing a "Rise Above Hate" shirt and a baseball cap (as pictured above) copy and pasted into the crowd. This doesn't just seem incredibly lazy, it breaks our immersion. Given how low-res these assets are, it surely wouldn't take long to just make 500 individual crowd members and then randomise where they sit?
