WWE 2K15: 10 Steps To Building The Hype

2. A 2K15 Pay Per View

In the mid to late 90's the WWF often promoted PPV events built around a specific superstar under the In Your House banner. This led to superstar themed events such as 'Rock Bottom' and 'D Generation X' titles. As a one off special to really put over 2K15 the WWE should resurrect this idea. Forget sponsoring a ppv €” 2K15 should be the pay per view. The event could be promoted as 'WWE 2K15: Virtual Becomes Reality' and would replace September's Night Of Champions. The game launch could be moved to the week of the pay per view, allowing gamers to play features that link into the event, a bit like FIFA allow gamers to do 'match of the week.' The PPV itself would have storylines related to the game, some of which have been touched on earlier in this feature. The whole production could also have the look and feel of the game, the same colour scheme and interface look. As a way of getting the product over it's a chance of getting it front and centre in the minds of all WWE fans. The game isn't just a side show to WWE, it's a vitally important part of the franchise.
