WWE 2K17: 10 Forgotten Things You Can Still Do
1. Cage Match - Auto Win Matches
An almost unchanged game type for ten years for the franchise, the steel cage is the bread and butter for ending a feud in wrestling in the golden era.
Want to stop interference? The cage match is for you. Want to stop your opponent from running away cowardly? The cage match is definitely for you. In the WWE 2K series the cage match has its own unique characteristics to set it aside from the other match types. For one, there is cage exclusive animations. Irish-whip your opponent hard and they will hit the cage wall face first. Grapple them on the ropes and you'll perform another barbaric animation. Even countering these moves can perform cage specific animations that will hurt your opponent.
Climbing the cage to escape is one way of winning this match, but watch out as your opponent can grab you and drop you from a terrible height. Or perhaps you want to fly off the top of the cage, this can be arranged, unfortunately you're stuck with the same animation dive for every superstar. The final forgotten feature for this match type is it's specific OMG moment. By having 2 finishers you are able to instantly win by escaping through the cage door.
Superplexing your opponent before hand achieves this. In the older WWE games, as far back as the Smackdown vs Raw series, this superplex led to a mini game where both you and your opponent would time your button presses with a gauge. Win and you escape, lose and you're dragged back in for more punishment.
It's a good match type, marred by the fact it hasn't been updated in so long, and that some player types such as Fatal 4 Way are now absent.
