WWE 2K17: 10 Most Shocking Roster Omissions

6. Yokozuna

Few wrestlers had as big an impact on WWE in the ‘90s as Yokozuna. Along with his devious manager Mr. Fuji, Yoko was a near-instant success with the company, and after winning the 1993 Royal Rumble, he captured Bret Hart’s WWE Championship at WrestleMania IX.

Yokozuna’s reign lasted but a matter of minutes before Hulk Hogan infamously ended it in one of the most disgraceful acts of his career, but he got the belt back a few months later, and enjoyed a 280-day reign that almost atoned for ‘Mania’s crimes. Furthermore, Yoko was posthumously inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame four years ago, and when it comes to accomplishments, it’s hard to argue that he doesn’t deserve his spot.

The argument against Yoko’s omission extends further than that, though. His huge size, sumo gimmick, and surprising agility (in the early days, at least) make him one of the ‘90s most iconic professional wrestlers. Yokozuna was a bona fide spectacle, and all these factors combined to create a truly memorable performer.

There are countless other HOF members and former Champions that haven’t been included this year, but Yokozuna ranks as one of the most shocking.
