WWE 2K21: 10 Predictions For What We Could Have Got
7. More Grounded MyCareer
There's no skirting around this: the MyCareer for WWE 2K20 was terrible. While it was nice to finally include a female in the story, the plotlines ranged from cheesy soap opera nonsense, to ludicrous magical bullcrap with Papa Shango. Compared to the excellent storyline in 2K19 it's clear the developers were trying too much to exceed the quality, resulting in WrestleMania in space and Samoa Joe with a robotic arm.
There was a huge amount of criticism around that and 2K must have reacted to it in the appropriate way. So 2K21's MyCareer would likely have dialled back the supernatural elements and given a more grounded storyline about a superstar's rise from hopeful rookie to the WrestleMania main event (because that seems to be the only storyline they seem to do in these games).
As the 2K22 MyRise (as it's now called) will feature a separate storyline for female superstars, 2K21 would likely have had the same following much demand from fans in previous years.
