Countless gaming-obsessed wrestling fans worldwide currently feel conflicted.

Excitement is starting to build for WWE 2K22, but there's still a bitter taste in the mouths of many following one of the worst wrestling video game disasters since WCW Backstage Assault. Oh yes, 2K20 was an abomination of glitches, bugs and poor decisions, but it was also over two years ago.

Since then, 2K and Visual Concepts have been hard at work rebuilding WWE's franchise from the ground up. The fruits of their labour will be unleashed on the world come 11 March, and...nobody wants this to be a failure. Honestly, why would they? Sure, some Twitter accounts would have a laugh if 2K22 was crap, and the memes would be class, but everyone else would lose in the meantime.

The good news is that 2K's latest definitely doesn't look sh*t. In fact, it looks really promising. They've improved on 2K20 in almost every conceivable way, and that's restoring some confidence within the gaming community that 2K22 will be a wrestler to be proud of.

Here's every major enhancement you need to know about before getting your hands on the game.

10. More Responsive Controls

2K22's control scheme has been tweaked to theoretically make it easier than ever for newbies to get to grips with things. During their 'Ringside Report' gameplay reveal, staff members who worked on the game spoke about something they viewed as a major problem when they went back to try out 2K20.

Basically, it was too difficult to pull off complex actions easily.

Principal designer Jason Vandiver said that gamers would "no longer feel like [they're] fighting to control [their] character". That's a step in the right direction. Further, Vandiver added that quickly getting characters "into position to do what you want them to do" was paramount to 2K.

Controls are more responsive across the board. Characters are still locked into animation cycles, of course, but they're nowhere near as clunky as 2K20's were. That's good to know, because even getting in and out of the ring was a chore last time.

Now, every wrestler should handle better.
