5. SURPRISE - The Iiconics
What division is in a worse state than the tag team division? The women's tag team division. Aside from the champions, there is currently one active actual tag team in the WWE today, that being Toxic Attraction in NXT. The other teams are just thrown together singles stars who have nothing else to do at the time.
Thank goodness then that the Iiconics are included as an actual tag team! Currently, the Impact Knockout Tag Team Champions, Cassie Lee and Jessica McKay were rising stars in NXT before their arrival on the main roster, where they won the Women's Tag Team titles at WrestleMania 35 and won a hometown victory in Melbourne over Asuka and Naomi.
Their inevitable breakup was handled poorly and the two were released in April 2021 along with a plethora of other stars. It's unclear why they turned down a spot in the 2022 Royal Rumble and still plan on collecting video game royalties but they're still a pleasant surprise for an otherwise dead-in-the-water division.
