WWE 2K22: 10 Things We Already Know
5. The Crowd & Commentary Will Be Tweaked
Brace yourselves for more contradictory comments from a guy who, whilst clearly excited to be part of the project, has already become prone to making the same empty promises 2K dish out annually.
After saying that 2K22 would move further away from "broadcast" styles, Gilmore says that he wanted some touches like commentary and the live crowd at ringside to provide "a more organic representation of broadcast". Which one is it? Take your pick.
2K's WWE commentary has been atrocious since forever, but they're not the only guilty parties here. The entire WWE series has arguably never had excellent narration - it's buggy, rarely adds to the action and repeats itself often. That's something Gilmore is determined to fix in time for 2K22.
As for the crowd, he's planning more unique character models and an altogether better flow when it comes to reactions. If he could suggest that 2K tone down the number of times ringsiders jump up and down when literally nothing is happening, that'd be grand.
