3. Promos Are Back In Universe

A lot of fans who put Universe Mode promos and segments on their own personal wishlists will be rejoicing at the news: They're back in WWE 2K25. Those who campaigned long and hard for this to return had a point. Universe just felt a bit empty without promos to add some story context to your booking. Yes, there were cutscenes, but players didn't have that much control over those unless they went deep on customisation in the menus and switched certain things on or off (be gone, automatic feuds!)

There's always a worry that these user-controlled talking bits will be clunky, but 2K has clearly been feverishly working away behind the scenes before announcing this. They'll surely tweak the old system to make sure these promos are well-implemented and a credit to Universe more than a hindrance. 2K are also promising new cutscenes and branching story paths to keep things fresh and vibrant in your sandbox.

That's a win for those who love Universe but got sick of recent iterations of the mode. Being brutally honest, the whole thing could use a shake up and certain things could be changed for ease of use, but it's lovely to see the team pay attention full stop. That's the least fans expect when plonking down their hard earned for these annual games.

The dialogue wheel-style player choices will be simplified compared to some other big budget games, you'd imagine. In fact, a screenshot of Becky Lynch in-ring cutting a promo reflects that. Giving gamers more control over what's effectively a 'WWE God Mode' simulator is the right call regardless.
