For those that enjoyed the recent co-op experience A Way Out, they should take a look at this unique platforming experience also from game director Josef Fares.

Set in an old Scandinavian world of fantasy and myth, the plot features two brothers tasked with a high-adventure quest to save their dying father.

The game is presented entirely as an intertwined co-op experience where players must work in synch in every aspect, from simple cart-pulling mechanics to intricate puzzling where one’s life lays at stake. It's an immersive mechanic that has each players working together in deeper ways than just providing your dudebro with cover-fire against zombie aliens.

Even more impressive though, it all works fantastically in single player without any diluting. In fact, it makes it even more challenging as each analogue stick is assigned to a different brother, and the player must work both constantly and sometimes at a break-neck pace.

Not surprisingly though with Fares background in filmmaking, the true power of the game is through its nuanced storytelling. You build a close bond with the brothers, then are faced with a devastating third act that will pull at the heartstrings.

It’s a brief experience yet with no padding or throwaway moments, what is there, works immensely well. Its low-key reception really needs a reassessment immediately, hopefully now, with Fares recent acclaim (and rockstar reputation), it will finally get its due.
