Xbox Two: 8 Rumours And Details You Need To Know
7. Microsoft Is Aiming To Cut Down On Loading Times
The point didn't come across as concisely as Spencer had perhaps hoped, but it appears Microsoft is all about improving technical performance for the Xbox family of consoles for the immediate future and beyond.
As part of its E3 briefing, the software giant rolled out the head of Xbox Game Pass Ashley Speicher to detail an update to the service - FastStart - that aims to cut down on how long it takes for games to enter 'ready' status once customers hit the download button.
In best case scenarios, time spent watching a progress bar hit 'playable' has been reduced by up to half, according to Speicher, but the dedication to streamlined performance doesn't end there.
In his candid interview with Giant Bomb, Spencer reiterated his disdain for long loading times, expressing a desire to slim them down further, not just in terms of download times, but hastier loading times for physical games.
What does this mean for the Xbox Two? Impossible to say, but Microsoft is actively looking at ways to reduce, if not eliminate, long wait times, and whether the One's successor achieves that remains to be seen, but Microsoft is taking the early steps to at least try and make that a reality.
Good start.
