Zelda 35th Anniversary: 9 Things Fans NEED To See

8. A "Legend Of Zelda Maker"

Sure, Nintendo gave a brief stab at this with the tacked-on dungeon builder that featured in Link's Awakening Switch remake, but fans have been craving a proper 'Legend Of Zelda Maker' in the vein of Super Mario Maker for years.

Truth be told, the Link's Awakening add-on did not offer much, only allowing players to remix existing rooms from other dungeons to 'craft' their own.

The limited scope the feature offered meant that players couldn't meticulously plan the devilish multi-layered and complex dungeons Zelda is known for, but instead produce a series of simple challenges that offer none of the surprises Super Mario Maker allowed.

While a fully fleshed-out dungeon editor, with the ability to design puzzles that span multiple rooms, would be welcome, it would be great to be able to design an overworld, too.

After Super Mario Maker 2's final update gave players the chance to craft their own worlds, it would be fantastic to see a similar feature present in the Zelda version. While such a game likely won't allow players to make a full Zelda adventure, a small overworld with original dungeons would suffice.
