Zelda: Breath Of The Wild - 10 Crucial Tips, Tricks & Secrets You Need To Know
1. Learn The Importance Of Weather (And Survive Lightning Storms)
One of the hidden dangers of Hyrule is the weather. Knowing how to deal with it is one of the most important lessons to learn in the game.
The perfect climate in Hyrule is sun. The sun provides no dangers to Link, unless he is located in the Gerudo Desert. Daytime is also when all of the enemies in encampments will be awake.
Nighttime is also important, as most enemies will fall asleep, allowing you to sneak around them. Remember that you can change the time of day from any bed, or by building a campfire wherever you are.
That last trick is especially helpful when it starts to rain. Rain is perhaps the biggest trouble to overcome in terms of weather, preventing Link from scaling anything from small hills to large cliffs. There isn't any equipment in the game that allows Link to deal with this, so the best thing to do is to build a campfire and skip to the next day.
Another big danger is lightning. In a lightning storm, anything can be struck down randomly. This includes enemies and, more importantly, Link. If you have any metal objects equipped, Link will start attracting stray bits of lightning and eventually be struck down completely. This danger can be avoided by simply un-equipping anything metal.
