2. More Secret Seashells

Secret Seashells were a collectable in Link's Awakening that rewarded you with a more powerful sword when you collected 20 of them and popped them into the Seashell Mansion. There were 26 in total, but every one found after the 20th became rupees instead, completely throwing away the appeal for searching for them.

Secret Seashells are back in the remake and there are more of them than ever, as well as more rewards for collecting them. After a certain amount, you will receive a device that passively lets you know when you are near a hidden seashell by playing a tone and flashing up on screen, then allowing you to gleefully find more and more of them to eventually win the top prize.

At time of writing, I have collected 25 of them, and have not received the coveted Seashell Sword yet, convincing me to take the time to explore the entire world all over again every time I found a new piece of gear.
