Zombie Army 4: Dead War Review

Yup, it's still VERY fun to shoot zombies - and zombie Hitler - in 2020.

Just when we all thought the age of the zombie game was over, and that we’d only see these shambling corpses pop up in Resident Evil titles from now on, Rebellion has brought us a sequel to 2015's Zombie Army Trilogy, Zombie Army 4: Dead War. No longer just a simple spin-off and well, a DLC compilation, Zombie Army 4 feels like a fully-fledged game and has a ton more content than the previous outing.

Following the same 1-4 player drop in and drop out the formula as before, Zombie Army 4 sees Karl Fairburne, Boris, Shola and Jun continue the fight against the undead armies, following the demise of giant zombie Hitler in Trilogy. However that obviously isn’t the case otherwise there wouldn’t be any dead to shoot, so the name of this game is to find out why the dead keep coming.

And if you've seen the trailers, then you’ll know Hitler is back from the dead, AGAIN! But this time, he has a few more zombified tricks up his sleeve.

Now it must be said, by this point that if you aren’t a fan of the Sniper Elite series or Zombie Army, then this won’t be for you, as it is very much in the same vein as prior outings.

Though unlike Zombie Army Trilogy - which was built from the foundations as Sniper Elite V2 - Dead War takes advantage of the gameplay improvements made with Sniper Elite 4.
