10 Horror Sequels EVERYONE Wants To See
7. The Collected

The Collection was the 2012 sequel to 2009's cult fave horror flick The Collector, and while both films were a modest success at best, they have nevertheless remained popular with horror fans over the years.
More to the point, The Collection ended on a triumphant note that nevertheless left the door open for a third movie to fully tie things off, and before the film had even been released, series creators Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton confirmed that a threequel, The Collected, was indeed in the works.
By 2014 The Collected was in active development, though progress stalled in the years that followed, likely a result of The Collection failing to break out at the box office while having a considerably higher budget than its predecessor.
However, The Collected actually began shooting in September 2019, only for production to be shut down after eight days under mysterious circumstances, seemingly killing it altogether.
But not quite - last summer, Dunstan revealed that behind-the-scenes issues holding up the third film's production have been resolved, and he and Melton will be retooling the script as they hope to get The Collected going again.
There's no guarantee that it actually still happens of course, especially with the previous film having released 13 years ago, but it's still the most optimistic update we've had on the project in a long, long time.
