Unless you were paying close attention to the casting announcements for Terrifier 3, you probably weren't expecting horror makeup effects legend Tom Savini to briefly show up in the hit threequel.

Savini, who has admittedly appeared in a bevy of horror films over the years - including Dawn of the Dead, Maniac, Creepshow, and From Dusk Till Dawn - turns up for a seconds-long cameo following Terrifier 3's infamous mall sequence.

After Art the Clown (David Howard Thornton) dresses up as Santa and sets off explosives at the mall, killing numerous children in the process, we cut to a TV news report of the incident, where Savini's unnamed eyewitness is being interviewed about the massacre.

Savini isn't the only cameo of note in the movie - the likes of Clint Howard, Daniel Roebuck, and wrestler Chris Jericho were also pleasant surprises - but for horror fans he's certainly the most immediately crowd-pleasing.

Given that Terrifier 3 is itself a marvel of practical gore effects, it feels like a poignant stamp of approval for Savini, the Godfather of Gore himself, to appear in the movie.
