Now, while Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst was technically featured in a single dimly-lit shot in the trailers for the recent sci-fi horror-comedy Y2K, his cameo managed to largely fly under the radar until the movie was released.

Durst shows up unexpectedly in the film's third act to help the young heroes fight back against the technology that's come to life and is hell-bent on wiping out mankind at the turn of the millennium.

Given that Durst is one of the undeniable icons of early 2000s pop culture, it was basically a perfect choice to put him in the movie, and all the more hilarious that he looks about 25 years older than his period self - because of course he does.

Durst is clearly having a ton of fun with the role, and while it's probably a stretch to call it a pure cameo, given that he has a decent amount of screen time in the final reel of the movie, it's still one of the most jaw-dropping surprise appearances in any recent movie.

That Durst showed up in this and another A24 horror movie, the aforementioned I Saw the TV Glow, within a 12-month period is absolutely wild.
