2. Danny DeVito - Beetlejuice Beetlejuice
Beetlejuice Beetlejuice was actually surprisingly restrained on the cameo front, though got a hugely unexpected one out of the way in one of its very first scenes.
The great Danny DeVito shows up briefly as a janitor working in the Netherworld, who ends up involved in an accident that causes Beetlejuice's (Michael Keaton) vengeful ex-wife, Delores LaFerve (Monica Bellucci), to rematerialise.
DeVito is under enough ghoulish makeup, complete with coloured contact lenses no less, that audiences might take a few moments to even recognise him, but a few knowing close-ups will surely confirm it for most.
This is of course far from DeVito's first collaboration with Burton, with the two having previously worked together on Batman Returns, Mars Attacks!, Big Fish, and Dumbo.
Given how beloved and recognisable an actor DeVito is, it's honestly impressive that his presence isn't more of a distraction, yet he so perfectly feels like a piece of the furniture in the Netherworld. Hilariously, DeVito's cameo was even kept secret from star Michael Keaton, who didn't find out until he watched an early cut of the movie himself.
