After Terrifier 2 marked an ambitious, even epic step up from the original micro-budget slasher, filmmaker Damien Leone took a hard pivot for the third movie, which was mounted as a Christmas slasher.

Yes, we get Art the Clown (David Howard Thornton) in a Santa outfit and a number of Christmas-themed death scenes, but the core of the movie is still very much the same as its predecessors - sadistic, darkly comedic violence driven by amazing practical effects and vague yet intriguing lore.

For many, the Terrifier films are simply too mean and nasty for their own good, but for those who enjoyed the previous two, Terrifier 3 is another edgy horror sequel packed with unforgettable kills and topped by another terrific physical performance from Thornton. It's probably not a film to watch with the grandparents on Christmas Day, but Terrifier 3 is nevertheless an unconventional yuletide classic in its own deeply twisted way.
