20 Horror Movies That Were JUST Announced

12. Portrait of God

Night of the Witch
Dylan Clark

It's always great to see a talented indie filmmaker get their big break, and it was recently announced that Dylan Clark - who helmed the hugely popular viral YouTube short Portrait of God - will now be adapting it into a feature film.

The original short - which you should absolutely watch, by the way - revolves around a religious young woman preparing a presentation about the titular painting, which appears blank to some people while others purport to see the face of God in it.

Clark's feature script sparked a bidding war which was ultimately won by Universal, and he's impressively secured the involvement of serious Hollywood talent, given that it will be co-produced by Sam Raimi and Jordan Peele.

While adapting such a brilliantly snappy 7-minute short into a feature won't be easy - and we've all seen how wrong this can go - Clark's wider body of filmmaking work on YouTube certainly suggests he's got the chops to pull it off. Here's hoping.
