20 Most WTF Moments From 2025 Horror Movies
1. The Jimmy Gang - 28 Years Later
And finally we have the single horror movie moment that, above all others, not a single damn person watching could've ever possibly predicted.
After almost two hours of brutally violent action and unexpected tenderness, Danny Boyle's long-awaited horror sequel takes a sharp left turn into wacky schlock territory in its final scene.
Young Spike (Alfie Williams) returns to the mainland and is later attacked by a fleet of the Infected, before being rescued by a blond-haired dude in a tracksuit (Jack O'Connell) and his gang of similarly-dressed lackeys, all of them clearly resembling disgraced British TV entertainer and accused sex offender Jimmy Savile.
The gang dispenses with the zombies with balletic ease, flipping around and slicing them up with bladed weapons, while scored to a heavy metal cover of the Teletubbies theme. Sure, why not?
The leader then introduces himself to Spike as Jimmy, revealing him to be the very same young boy we glimpsed in the film's intense, 28-years-earlier prologue.
All of this, complete with the implication that Jimmy and his gang still believe Jimmy Savile to be an upstanding entertainer - given that civilisation crumbled before the allegations were made public - ensures that 28 Years Later ends on a deranged, peerlessly WTF note that's unsurprisingly proven incredibly divisive with audiences.
