7. Ice Cream Man
At first glance, you might understandably assume that Ice Cream Man is a remake of the 1995 cult comedy-horror film of the same name, where Clint Howard starred as a deranged man who uses human flesh in his ice cream recipes, as you do.
But this new Eli Roth-directed film of the same name has no direct, legal relation to the original, instead being a similarly premised, independent film about an unhinged ice cream man (Ari Millen) who serves up horrific treats to the locals.
Somewhat hilariously, Roth claims that he's had the idea rattling around in his head for an entire 20 years, and only now is it finally coming to fruition.
While execution is everything, this sounds like a one-note concept that may or may not have been dreamt up by Eli Roth in a cloud of bong smoke in his younger days. Given that we already have an Ice Cream Man movie with Clint freakin' Howard, is this new one really likely to make much of a case for itself?
