A band that could be grouped into the 2010s fad of a “fluke indie hit”, a term often discussed by online critics Grouplove are an American indie rock band that gained a minor hit in 2011 and 2012 with Tongue Tied.
A pulsating electropop song, the tune was featured in an Apple advertisement. (Remember when they had an impact on the charts?) The iPod Touch commercial and a Glee cover boosted the profile of Tongue Tied and the band.
WhatCulture diehards might recognise the band from performing the credits theme to Netflix’s BoJack Horseman, titled Back in The 90's. This is currently their second best known song, and probably always will be.
A recurring addition to the soundtrack of the FIFA videogame series, a future alternative hit is not ruled out of the question. Though, it will likely take licensing their single out again to other media like crazy to hit the Billboard Hot 100 again.
