10 '90s Bands Everyone Forgets About

4. Presidents of the United States of America

Any act looking to make it big in the '90s could normally get away with a little bit of snideness. Regardless of how well you could play your instrument, everyone from Primus to Green Day were indulging in a bit of doofy humor every now and again. As far as the Presidents were concerned though, you'd swear that they were aiming to be as weird as possible.

Across every single one of their records, the Presidents were always looking to take their weirdness to a different level, with their biggest single being about how awesome peaches are. Once you listened to the riffs though, there was a lot more going on than you might have originally thought. Instead of the usual guitar and bass setup that you would get from other acts, the Presidents' trademark crunch was actually made by stringing together both guitar and bass strings to create this feral sound whenever they plugged in.

No matter how ridiculous some of the lyrics may have come off back in the day, the riffs were always what really sold you on their kooky brand of alt rock. For all of the goofy pisstakes happening in the lyrics of every song, you don't need the humor to know this kicks major ass.
