10 Actors You Didn't Know Are Currently Rocking Out In Bands

6. Billy Bob Thornton

The writer-director-actor best known for his roles in Slingblade, Monster's Ball, and Bad Santa (quite the versatile thespian) has one of the busiest schedules of any actor working today, appearing in approximately 1-2 movies each year since 1991. The guy's not much for sitting on a sofa, unless he's doing it to research a role as a man who enjoys sitting on the sofa. Band: The Boxmasters In the few spare hours each year that he's not acting or sleeping (he's likely given up on eating and consumes nutrition through an IV now), Billy Bob sings and plays drums for blues rock band The Boxmasters. The rockabilly-tinged group has released five albums to date. Music isn't a new hobby for Thornton, either. He released four country-ish albums and was the singer of a ZZ Top cover band prior to joining The Boxmasters in 2007. Following a major controversy on Canadian radio, where Thornton instantly switched from affable to extremely irritable and nearly catatonic after an interviewer asked him a relatively innocent question about his film career, The Boxmasters parted ways with their label. The last couple of albums have been released independently, but that's done nothing to deter Thornton and his bandmates from churning out honky-tonk flavored blues ballads. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZQXTIVCLDy4
