10 Alternative Rock Music Videos You've Never Seen

4. California Love - 2Pac Featuring Dr. Dre

When you have two of West Coast hip hop's all time greats collaborating on a track, you know it's going to be good. And, with a track as massive as California Love, you need a video of equally impressive scale.

Boy, did they deliver the goods! Jada Pinkett Smith came up with the concept, but dropped out of the director's role. Even so, they pulled it off. Dre and 2Pac were shown holding court in a Mad Max, Thunderdome-style arena, as they delivered their self-aggrandising bars with unbridled skill. The rest of the video shows the pair racing around a post-apocalyptic wasteland in modified dune buggies, clad in classic Mad Max attire. If this is a vision of the future, it doesn't seem that bad...

The story was continued when a remixed version of the song was released. Pac awakes from his desert nightmare and calls Dre, telling him about the madness. The two then head to a huge California house party. Far more typical for a '90s rap video, they're surrounded by well endowed women, busting moves and sippin' fine liquor.

It's not a bad remix, and it's always fun watching Dre and Pac flexing their rap skills together, but it was some what of less-inspired video.
