10 Amazing Artists That Only Have One Album

6. Green River

Before grunge really hit the mainstream, the Seattle scene was trading band members like it was no big deal. Just look at something like Temple of the Dog, which had members of what would become Pearl Jam and Soundgarden working together in tribute to Andy Wood. Where we're going has to go back a little bit further, before even Andy Wood was becoming the breakout star of the Seattle scene.

In the mid '80s, Green River was formed comprised of some of the biggest icons in Seattle...only with some of the most dysfunctional goals imaginable. Though everyone in the band had a taste for the chaotic side of rock, all they could muster was the one album Rehab Doll before calling in quits. Being comprised of Stone Gossard and Jeff Ament of Pearl Jam, most of the disagreements came down to a conflict of interest, with Mark Arm wanting to stick to the DIY approach instead of setting his sights on fame.

In the end, both sides just ended up having different goals for what their careers should be, with Arm going in the opposite direction and forming Mudhoney while Ament and Gossard turned to Mother Love Bone with Andy Wood. That hasn't done anything to their legacy though, with Soundgarden covering their song Swallow My Pride on their early EPs and Pearl Jam even having impromptu reunions with Arm to play a few Green River songs in the years since. Time may have caused them to drift apart, but at least they're all still in good graces with each other.
