10 Amazing Artists That Only Have One Album

5. New Radicals

Right off the bat, there's probably a handful of people who slagged off this band solely because of the pretentious name. Being more on the hipster side of pop music, Gregg Alexander was more into the songwriting side of the business than the stardom, and the New Radicals was just his way of honing his craft in the meantime. Along the way though, they managed to put out one of the greatest pop albums that the '90s had ever seen.

Working with writing partner Danielle Brisebois and a host of session musicians, Maybe You've Been Brainwashed Too is the kind of AOR rock record that was sorely lacking on the charts in the age of irony, taking the slacker attitude and putting some killer hooks behind it. Though most of the praise for this album usually begins and ends at You Get What You Give, there are so many deep cuts that could have made anyone else's career, like the breakup anthem Someday We'll Know or the dramatic journey of I Hope I Didn't Just Give Away the Ending.

While this brought Alexander to a bigger level of fame than he had dreamed of, it was also a kind of fame that he didn't want to revisit for much longer, quietly retiring the project just a few months after the album dropped. He has since turned into a songwriter behind the scenes though, and you can still hear some of his beautiful melodies sprinkled over the likes and Hanson and Santana these days.
