10 Artists Who Always Had The Best Music Videos

3. Queen

Notable Mentions: Bohemian Rhapsody, Who Wants To Live Forever, Radio Ga Ga, I Want To Break Free, A Kind Of Magic

Where to start with this one? Queen have been just as experimental with their music videos as they have been with their music.

Starting from the success that was 'Bohemian Rhapsody', the group knew they had to do something special to sell their six-minute single, which in 1975 was considered way too long for radio airplay. A more artistic promotional video was pretty unheard of at this point too, with most record companies using clips of live performances. The opening shot of the video features the now iconic image of the four members silhouetted in darkness with their acapella verse. A number of special effects, using visual and audio feedback from cameras, also created illusions on the group's faces.

Moving forward a few years, and the band started to get much more experimental. Their videos became more unqiue, with many references to popular culture. 'I Want To Break Free' was a parody of Coronation Street, with the group dressed as women in a suburban home, while 'A Kind Of Magic' used Disney to layover cartoon images onto clips of the band. 'Radio Ga Ga' features scenes from iconic 1927 sci-fi Metropolis, while 'The Invisible Man' brings in gaming console screens.

The group's imagination remains legendary to this day.
