7. Foo Fighters
RCA
Current Odds: 12-1 Inevitably, the Spring of 2014 saw a lot of focus on the other band that Dave Grohl is famous for, as April marked the tenth anniversary of the tragic demise of Kurt Cobain with Grohl and bassist Krist Novoselic playing a short set of Nirvana songs at the band's Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame inauguration aided by Lorde and Patti Smith amongst others. A sentimental moment and one to correctly sit back and remember just what an astonishing band Nirvana were. However, the band with whom Grohl plays nowadays is a pretty big deal, too - indeed, they've actually had more chart success than Nirvana. The Nicest Man In Rock has an important anniversary coming up in 2015 as well: it's a full decade since the release of the Foo Fighters' eponymous debut album. With the Foos' eighth album due out in November, it seems unlikely that they would be avoiding festival season, especially in their tenth year. Certainly they could be argued to be a bigger band than two of this year's headliners - Arcade Fire and Kasabian - and they would represent a sensible choice for the organisers. At current odds of 12-1, they're definitely worth putting your money on.
