10 Artists Who Openly Dissed Their Fans

5. Eddie Vedder Stopping Assault

Of all the grunge bands, Pearl Jam has always been known to take their fans for a bit of a ride. From changing their setlist every time they take to the stage to being inclusive with the homemade bootlegs they share, it feels like these guys are fans just like the rest of us. So when someone gets a little nasty in the crowd, you'd better believe that Eddie Vedder is going to have something to say about it.

Midway through their punk thrashabout Lukin, Vedder brought the entire thing to a stop after seeing a woman about to get assaulted right in front of him. Motioning for the rest of the band to stop, Vedder singles out the guy who was demeaning the woman before ushering for security to have him kicked out of the show shortly afterward.

Ever the gentleman, Vedder even goes so far as to make sure that the woman was okay before commending her boyfriend and her from trying to defend themselves to the best of their ability. He doesn't skip a beat either, picking up on Lukin exactly where he left off. While Eddie has always been known to speak his mind on things, it's nice to see that he at least uses his powers for good whenever it's time to keep the peace.
