10 Artists Who Totally Ripped Off The Arctic Monkeys

3. Milburn

There's a long standing contention between fans of Milburn and Arctic Monkeys regarding which band ripped off the other first. Both born from the noughties Sheffield scene, the bands were bound to have similar sounds, though Milburn's "Last Bus" and Arctic Monkeys' "Leave Before The Lights Come On" bear too many similarities to be put down entirely to coincidence.

The songs were both released around the same time, making it hard to tell whether one feasibly could have influenced the other, but a thriving live scene meant it was likely one of these tracks at least received a live debut before being put to record.

If Milburn indeed ripped off this early Arctic Monkeys track, Turner and co definitely got their own back later, with the entirety of "Favourite Worst Nightmare" sounding like an expansion of Milburn's 2006 tracks "Showroom" and "Send in the Boys".

Out of all the artists on this list, Milburn doubtlessly sound the most like early Arctic Monkeys, and is a must-listen for any fan dissatisfied with Arctic Monkeys' more recent releases.
